Dayton ISD FFA Student Selected Ricebelt District Treasurer
Dayton High School FFA student Wesley Salas was elected the Ricebelt District Treasurer this week.
He will serve the Ricebelt District at all district, area, and state-level FFA events. Part of the process to be selected includes going up against numerous competitors from various high schools.
Wesley ran against candidates from all twenty schools in our district, stretching from Dayton to Beaumont.
One part of the selection was to test his knowledge of FFA history and parliamentary procedure. Wesley also had to give a speech in front of the district delegation.
Now that he has been chosen as the Ricebelt District Treasurer, he will work with an officer team composed of students from a different school to lead the Ricebelt District throughout the year.
Hali Wagner, Lead Agriscience Teacher/FFA Advisor, stated, “We are extremely proud of Wesley and his accomplishments. I know that he will represent our FFA organization and Dayton ISD very well.”
