West Fork blanks Hardin 6-0
ANAHUAC — It was early morning Baseball on Friday as Hardin and West Fork met at the Anahuac Tournament on the diamond.
The Gators received a two-hit pitching performance by their freshman ace in a 6-0 win over the Hornets.
West Fork scored a run in the bottom of the first inning to move in front 1-0 and the score stayed there until the fourth inning.
Hardin put up their best threat of the game in the top of the fourth inning.
Jayden Phelps doubled and then moved to third on a passed ball before Parker Buffington and Lleyton Berry walked to load the bases. The Gators got out of the inning without allowing any runs and still held their slim 1-0 lead.
West Fork then scored four runs in the bottom half of the inning to push their advantage to 5-0.
Michael Moody doubled for the Hornets in the top of the fifth inning but would be stranded at second base.
The Gators then extended their lead to 6-0 with a run in the bottom half of the frame.
Korey Newkirk and Hunter Whitehead walked in the sixth inning but would also be stranded on base.
West Fork would get the 6-0 victory as the game ran out of time in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Hardin will travel to Big Sandy on Friday for a doubleheader.
