Casino Night, once again a hit, raises funds for educational grants
LIBERTY – The stakes were high as the community came out to support the Liberty ISD Education Foundation and help fund educational opportunities not commonly available to students.
It was another exciting year for the group and its Casino Night event.
It has become the organization’s largest fundraising activity to benefit education through grants for innovative education programs throughout the district.
“ The community support for the foundation and the event was incredible. We want to thank all of our sponsors for their generous donations to the event,” said foundation president Brandon Davis.
The event helps raise money for grants that the foundation awards to educators throughout the district while providing an exciting evening for guests to unwind and win some fantastic prizes.
The event features favorites like blackjack, poker, roulette, craps, and of course, slots.
Those grants allow educators to purchase items above and beyond what the district can buy. Educators submit a grant application each spring, and the foundation looks for proposals that will significantly impact educational experiences.
This year’s event brought in approximately $40,000 after expenses towards those educational efforts and will go a long way to funding grants.
“We have given out over $300,000 in grants since our inception that have helped students from pre-k through 12th grade,” Davis said.
