Liberty Garden Club kicks off 2024
The Liberty Garden Club met on Jan. 5 in the lovely home of Pam Litton. After a Christmas break, which included a celebratory luncheon at Mary Schwertner’s home, the group was back in action planning for their spring meetings and projects.
Denise Barkis gave a program on indoor landscaping or Winter Health Therapy with Plants. Her talk stressed the healthy benefits plants can provide, from increasing oxygen levels to serving as antidepressants. Barkis provided members with cuttings from several plants as well as potted aloe Vera.
Member Karen Arnold reviewed plans for their next invitational friendship luncheon titled Leap Into Spring, in recognition of this being a leap year.
Before and after the meeting, members enjoyed refreshments and visiting with other friends. Sharing hostessing duties with Pam Litton were members Margaret Gardzina, Tracy Moss and Roberta Thornton.
