Dayton High School Presents Disney Frozen Jr. Musical
Once again, the Dayton High School Drama and Choir Departments are merging together their talents to present a fall musical.
Drama Director, Diana Searcy stated, “We have been doing these musical productions for several years now. DHS Choir Director Anne Landrum and I started talking about the selection of the musical in the spring semester. We had auditions in mid August and started the first rehearsals shortly after the audition process. The students are very excited about this production and we have expanded our event to host a Tea with Anna and Elsa and the other cast members, the Saturday before our first performance.”
The Tea with Anna and Elsa is not only to promote their upcoming musical Frozen, Jr. but also give our DISD children a fun event.
The Tea will be held on December 9th at the Dayton High School Cafeteria from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
There will be refreshments, photo opportunities, karaoke, face painting and games. Tickets can be purchased at any Dayton ISD campus. The cost is $15 per person or $25 for up to a family of four.
On Dec. 14, a special showing will be done for all 5th grade students at the Performing Arts Center.
The first public production of Frozen, Jr. will be held Friday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Dayton ISD Performing Arts Center.
Tickets for the production are $10 and can be purchased at the Dayton High School Front Office and the Performing Arts Center at the door. “We invited everyone to come out and enjoy these events! Our students have worked hard and we would love to have great crowds at each performance,” stated Mrs. Searcy.
