3rd Annual “Tree of Angels” around the corner
LIBERTY — In 2021, the Liberty County District Attorney’s Office started a new tradition during the Christmas season, with the introduction of “Tree of Angels,” which is continuing into its third year this holiday season.
The tree serves as a memorial in support of victims of violent crimes, veterans, members of the military and first responders.
Located on the first floor of the Liberty County Courthouse, survivors’ families are encouraged to come and hang an angel ornament or any unique ornament honoring these individuals starting Dec. 1.
Anyone wishing to include a loved one’s name on the ornament is encouraged to do so.
Ornaments can be placed on the tree Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout the holiday season. Please note that ornaments will not be returned, as they will be kept for display on the tree each year.
This year, a special cookie reception will be held on Monday, Dec. 18, from 1-3 p.m.
