Parker dominates Coldspring 2-0
Hardin pitcher Reese Parker was dominant on Tuesday night at Coldspring and held the Lady Trojans to just two-hits and the Lady Hornets picked up a big 2-0 win in district action.
Parker worked ahead in the count all evening long and kept the Coldspring hitters guessing, as she finished the game with 11 strikeouts.
Hardin loaded the bases in the third inning with singles by Emma Smart, Maddy Fregia, and Parker but the Lady Trojans pitcher buckled down to get out of the jam. The Lady Hornets would not be denied in the fourth though.
Kaitlyn Key walked and moved to second on a single by Audrey Schulz.
Smart then lined a single to score Key and Hardin had a 1-0 lead.
Emmah Hebert then followed with a double to plate Schulz and the advantage was 2-0.
That would be all Parker needed for runs.
The Lady Trojans put up a threat in the seventh, but the game ended on a double play to seal-the-deal on the victory.
Smart was a perfect 3 for 3 at the plate while Alissa Aragonez added a pair of hits.
The Lady Hornets will host Anderson-Shiro on Thursday in another key district tilt.
