Muirhead allows just two-hits in 4-0 shut-out of Cleveland
Ronnie Muirhead struck out 11 and allowed just two hits in pitching a complete game for Dayton on Thursday night as the Broncos took care of Cleveland 4-0. Dayton jumped out in front with three runs in the bottom of the third inning. Victor Zuniga scored Ashton Garner with a double to give the Broncos a 1-0 lead. Two batters later, it was Conner Murphree sending Zuniga home with a single to make it a 2-0 advantage and then Murphree scored on a Davin Lee sacrifice to run the advantage to 3-0. Dayton then added another run in the fourth when Garner scored Ryan Wilson on a grounder to make it 4-0. That would be more than enough run support for Muirhead, who was throwing blanks on the mound for the Broncos. Zavier Woods pitched four innings in getting the loss for the Indians. Over Espinoza had a hit and walk for Cleveland at the plate. Dayton will travel to Montgomery on Friday night.
