Martin and Jordan named All-District 1st Team
The Cleveland Indians just finished playing their first year of Class 6A football, the largest classification in Texas.
The Indians also did another first this year by picking up their first win in school history as a Class 6A program as they knocked off Caney Creek. Under the direction of Head Coach Quirino Silva, Cleveland also saw several players be awarded in the all-district team.
The Indians finished with two players being named to the first-team all-district team. They are senior defensive back Jameer Martin and junior defensive lineman Ivion Jordan.
Named to the second team for Cleveland are running back Tyric Cannon and wide receiver Avery Sims. Both Cannon and Sims are also seniors. Quarterback Tyler Spencer was named to the Honorable Mention Team.
The Indians also had four players named to the district’s Academic All-State Team. Named to the first team was Jameer Martin.
Oscar Calchado and Avery Sims finished on the second team, while I’Drelyn Perkins was named to the Honorable Mention Team.
