Lufkin get’s comeback win at Cleveland 27-16
Down by three points heading into the fourth quarter, the Lufkin Panthers put up two fourth-quarter touchdowns to pull off the comeback win over Cleveland 27-16 on Friday night at Indians Stadium. Cleveland got on the scoreboard first, with Christon Duncantel crossing the goal line from the 9-yard line, and after a successful two-point conversion, the Indians led 8-0. Brandon Cano got the Panthers on the board early in the second quarter with a 20-yard field goal to make it an 8-3 game. Lufkin then took the lead with 4:00 minutes left in the first half as Jose Juan Acevedo caught a 35-yard touchdown pass, and the Panthers led 10-8. Cano added a 24-yard field goal late in the first half, and Lufkin led 13-8 at the break. Cleveland took the second-half kickoff and regained the lead on a Devonte Robertson to Donald Robertson 23-yard touchdown pass. Devonte Robertson then ran in the twopoint conversion, and the Indians led 16-13. The Panthers then got touchdown runs of 50 and 4 yards by running back Kedren Young to lead 27-16 and get the district win.
