Liberty track teams capture first place at Bobcat Relays

The Liberty Panthers boys and girls track teams traveled to Hull-Daisetta high school on Thursday afternoon, and both came away with firstplace team totals.

On the girl’s side, Nailah Donatto grabbed first place in the shot put; Morgan Vaughn also captured first place in the high jump, while Julianne Shivers finished first in the 3200-meter run.

The 4x100 and 4x 200-meter relay teams of Carrington, Robinson, Turner, and Fountain took home first place also. Asjia Fountain finished first place in the 100, while teammate Cherish Robinson won the 200.

Winning first place medals for the boys was Gavin Fontenot in the high jump and Patrick Flowers in the 3200-meter run. The 4x100 meter relay team of La Fleur, Montes, Curtis, and Valtierra won first place, while the 4x 200-meter team of Freeman, Fontenot, Valtierra and Curtis also captured the gold.

Rene Romero won the 800-meter dash, and Aiden La Fleur won the 100.

Trevor Reed won the 400-meter run, and Flowers finished first in the 1600.
