Lady Panthers pound Lady Horns 12-0

HAMSHIRE — The No. 1 ranked Liberty Lady Panthers won their 27th straight game on Tuesday night at Hamshire-Fannett in a 12-0 pounding of the Lady Horns.

Liberty moves to 8-0 in district play and has outscored their district opponents 95-4 along the way. The Lady Panthers are now 27-1 on the season.

Abbie Key and Abby Vickers each homered for Liberty. Key finished with two hits and four RBIs, while Vickers had two hits and a pair of RBIs. Marina Bourgeois also had two hits and three RBIs.

Brookelyn Taylor pitched three innings and finished with seven strikeouts to get the win. Kylee Bishop and Bayleigh Taylor also pitched two innings each.

The Lady Panthers scored a run in the second inning as Vickers doubled and then scored on a Bourgeois RBI single to make it 1-0.

Liberty added to their advantage with four runs in the third. Bayleigh Taylor doubled and would score on a single by Key to make it 2-0. Vickers then followed with a home run to center field and the score was 4-0. Brookelyn Taylor then singled, and pinch/runner Ryleigh Jordan would score on a double by Bourgeois and the advantage was 5-0.

Bishop and Bayleigh Taylor walked in the fourth inning, and after Key was hit-by-a-pitch, the bases were loaded. Bishop scored on a wild pitch and Vickers walked to load the bases again. Bourgeois followed with a walk to score another run and the score was 7-0.

Bailee Slack and Bishop walked to start the fifth inning, and after a double steal put both runners on second and third, Slack then scored on a wild pitch for an 8-0 lead. Key then lined out to center field to plate Bishop and a 9-0 advantage.

In the seventh inning, Hollie Thomas had an RBI single and then Key launched a pitch to center field for a two-run shot and the 12-0 final.

Bishop also had two hits and scored three runs, and Breezy Pantalion finished with a pair of hits.

Liberty will host Livingston at home on Friday evening.
