Lady Horns outscore Lady Hornets 11-9
The Tarkington Lady Horns scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to knock off Hardin 11-9 on Friday night in district play at the Lady Horns Diamond. Tied at 9-apiece heading into the bot
Tied at 9-apiece heading into the bottom of the sixth inning, Shelbie Chamblee started things off with a single, and then Jersee Moore followed with a walk.
After a fielder’s choice by Maddison Dominy put runners on first and third with one out.
Kalee Johnson then hit a ground ball to first that was booted, which allowed Chamblee to score, and Tarkington led 10-9.
Abby Peachee then scored Dominy with a groundout to second, which ran the lead to 11-9.
Lady Horns winning pitcher Scout Payne then set the Lady Hornets down in the top of the seventh inning to get the complete-game win on the mound.
Payne finished with four strikeouts.
Both teams combined for nine runs in the first inning as Hardin led 5-4.
The Lady Hornets got an RBI double by Reese Parker, which scored Maddy Fregia, who had singled to make it 1-0.
Taylor Knight then reached on an error to score Parker, and the score was 2-0.
Emmah Hebert then had an RBI single and a fly ball by Audrey Schulz that was booted to score two more, and Hardin was ahead 5-0.
Tarkington quickly answered back in the bottom half of the frame with Payne walking and Emily Lowe singling, which allowed Payne to cross the plate after an error in the play to make it 5-1.
Chamblee then reached on another error which allowed Lowe to score, and the deficit was down to 5-2.
Moore then lifted a fly ball to push across another run, and then a single by Dominy plated Chamblee, and the score was 5-4.
In the second inning, the Lady Hornets got an RBI triple by Knight to increase their lead to 6-4.
After a Hebert double in the third scored Alissa Aragonez to make it a 7-4 advantage, the Lady Horns went to work in the bottom of the third.
Peachee scored Moore on an error to make it 7-5, and then Payne lined a double to left field to bring home Dominy and Peachee, and the score was knotted at 7-apiece. Lowe followed with a grounder to

Hardin tied the score with two runs in the fifth on a Schulz double which scored Trinity Mefferd and Aragonez, and the scoreboard read 9-9.
Fregia and Parker had two hits apiece for the Lady Hornets, while Dominy had three hits, and Lowe and Leanna May had two hits each for the Lady Horns
