The third quarter was the best of the night for the Hornets as they put up 13 points while the Buccaneers scored 20.
Hardin could only muster three points in the final eight minutes of play.
Peyton Gowdey led the Hornets in scoring with 10 points and Ricko Denman finished with 7. Josue Ibarra added 3 points and 7 rebounds, while teammate Navarr Romero also hauled in 7 rebounds.
Hardin will return home on Friday night to face Orangefield.
