Dayton hosts annual Bronco Relays
DAYTON - Ten high schools participated in the Annual Bronco Relays last Thursday at Houston Methodist Field at Bronco Stadium. On the boys side, Barbers Hill took first place, with Liberty finishing in third. Dayton was in fifth place. The girls saw Barbers Hill first, with Liberty in 8th place and Dayton finishing 9th.
For the Lady Panthers, Breezy Pantalion won 2nd in the 100-meter dash.
In the girls 400-meter dash, Julianne Shivers was in 4th place for Liberty.
Dayton’s Zyriah Booker finished in 6th place for the 300-meter hurdles. The Lady Broncos, 4x400 meter relay team of Linda Bibbs, Booker, Cianna Baldwin, and Maiyah Phoummarath, was in 5th place.
In the girls triple jump, Dayton’s Kharma Brown finished 2nd place.
On the boys side, it was Liberty’s Kaiden Jones winning 2nd place with a time of 11:00. Zach Breaux took home third place in the 200-meter dash for the Panthers.
In the 1,600-meter run, Dayton’s Peyton Snapp and Jaxon Asbill finished in 1st and 2nd place, respectively, while Liberty’s Patrick Flowers was in 3rd. Flowers grabbed the gold in the 3,200-meter run.
The Panthers 4x100 meter relay team of Jones, Breaux, Alex Valtierra, and Dawson Victorian was in 3rd place. In the 4x400 meter relay race, Liberty’s combo of Jones, Tony Denman, Breaux, and Dawson finished in 2nd place.
In the high jump, it was Victorian finishing in 2nd place.
Dayton’s Cody Barnhart finished in 5th place in the pole vault.
The triple jump saw Jeremiah Stevens finish in 4th place, with the Panthers Denman finishing in 6th.
The Broncos Eric Rosales took third place in the shot put and added a fourth-place finish in the discus.
