LUMBERTON - The final sporting event on Thursday night at Lumberton High School featured the boys basketball game with some high fl ying slam dunk action.

Tarkington’s Cory Armstrong and Jase Hightower suited up for the West team and their side would slip past the East 70- 67.

The East jumped out to a quick 12- 6 lead, but the West would fight back and made a 9- 0 run of their own for a 15 12 lead. B o t h teams played to an even second quarter by scoring 19 points apiece and the West led 36- 32 at the break. In the second half, the score stayed close, and then down the stretch, the West side made a couple more plays than the East team for the 70- 67 win. H i g h t owe r had a couple of rebounds and a steal, while Armstrong also had a pair of rebounds.
