Letter to the editor

Please forward this to any of our so called politicians, they will not respond to the requests of our small community:

Dear President Trump, Governor Abbott, State and Federal Representatives:

On behalf of the wonderful folks in Devers, Texas, I have been working for weeks trying to provide my community some relief and help after the flooding of Imelda. As mayor, I have requested help from you regarding the horrible infestation of possible disease carrying mosquitoes and received no answers.

I have also contacted you hoping for some answers as to why no one is working to reopen our post office that was flooded. Once again, you have not answered my emails or phone calls.

In our time of need, I have contacted you — and heard nothing! You have not viewed the folks of Devers important enough to try and help — or even reply.

So when you need campaign contributions, please don’t contact me. You will get nothing!

When you need my vote, please don’t ask — you will not get it.

You are elected to represent all the folks of your charge — especially the communities like Devers, who may be a small voting block with no big money, but who usually need your help the most.

We should be important to you!
