Velma Irene Fisher, 1925-2019

Velma Irene (Buchanan) Fisher, age 95, of Liberty went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Nov. 10. She was born on June 18, 1925 in Harwood, Texas, to Floyd William Buchanan and Hattie Cain Buchanan. On Dec. 5, 1941, she married Edwin Martin Fisher. She was a member of Heights Baptist Church in Liberty. Velma enjoyed cooking and visiting with her family and friends.

Velma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edwin M. Fisher; son, Dana Lloyd and wife Loretta Jeanette Fisher; son, Kenneth Martin; and granddaughter, Valerie Jeanette Fisher. She is survived by son Rocky Fisher of Beach City, Texas; daughter-in-law, Ann Fisher of Dayton; grandson, Howard Fisher of Deer Park; granddaughter, Ashli Fisher; great-grandsons, William and Tony Fisher; great-granddaughters, Addalyn Fisher and Marcelina Podkowinski; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers are Brian Wood, Brandon Wood, Skip Pillsbury, Patrick Anderson, Wayne Andrew, Bobby Faneros, Mark Sanders and Eric Evans.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019 in the chapel at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas 77575. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 14, at 10 a.m. at Allison Funeral Service with Pastor Tim Gruver of Heights Baptist Church officiating.
