Scott Hill, 1964-2020

Scott Hill, 55, of Liberty died Jan. 22 in a tragic accident. He never married and is survived by his mother, Robin Hill; sister, Laura Acker, her husband Daylon and their children, Alyssa Acker and Jake Acker; brother, Matt Hill and his two sons, Ryan and Parker Hill all of Dallas; as well as a large, extended family. He was predeceased by his father, John S. Hill; and his grandmother, Edna Lee Hill.

Scott was born Aug. 6, 1964 in Port Arthur. He grew up in Liberty, graduating from Liberty High School in 1982 and then from Lamar University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church. He had recently returned to Liberty after a bout with ill health and was pursuing new job opportunities in the area.

Scott will be remembered for his kindness, generous spirit, dry wit and love of his friends and family. He loved reading and learning new things. Scott will be greatly missed.

Final arrangements are pending. The family would like to thank all those who helped Scott and ask that any memorial donations in his memory be made to First United Methodist Church of Liberty in lieu of flowers.
