Mildred “Suzie” Sue Frye, 1948-2019
Mildred “Suzie” Sue Frye, 71, of Liberty passed from this life while surrounded by her beloved family on July 5. Mrs. Frye was born on March 11, 1948 in Logan, West Virginia, to Marian Robinson Dowdy.
Suzie was raised for the majority of her life by her grandparents, Fred and Mildred Robinson in West Virginia. She was always very proud of her roots of the mountains of West Virginia. It was from those roots that her love of the great outdoors grew. She had a passion for nurturing anything that grew from the ground. No matter if it was her plants in the front yard or her garden, she was always making sure they were well tended to. She enjoyed listening lots of different types of music. Suzie’s mission in life was to serve those less fortunate than herself. Mrs. Frye hoped that her helping the homeless and those who struggle with addiction would help them to find a way back on their feet.
She was a kind and caring woman who loved her family dearly. It is without doubt that her greatest treasure in life were the ones she loved and especially her grandchildren. Suzie had a special fondness of dragon flies. She knew they were visiting angels of loved ones that had gone before her, such as her husband, Emery, and son, Emery Lee. With no surprise to the family, the morning after she passed away a dragon fly came and sat on the finger of her son-in-law for serval minutes as to say “I am at peace and rejoicing in the reunion.” Suzie will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Frye is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Emery Frye; a son, Emery Lee Frye; and two brothers, James Dowdy and Donny Dowdy.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her mother, Marian Dowdy; daughter, Susan Benoit and husband, Edmund; brother, Tommy Dowdy; sisters, Helen Eplin; Patricia Dingess and husband, Paul, Rosalee Hightower, Debra Buttick and husband, James, Becky Dingess and husband Timmy; grandchildren, Shelby Caldwell and husband, Trevor, Edmund John Ray Benoit, and Nevaeh Frye; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
