Frank Henry Marek

Frank Henry Marek, a loving husband, devoted father, and skilled craftsman, passed away on May 24, 2023, in The Woodlands, Texas, at the age of 85. He was born on December 1, 1937, in Shiner, Texas, to Frank August Marek and Christina Svatek Marek. Frank’s legacy will forever be cherished by his family and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Frank received his education at St. Paul’s High School in Shiner, Texas, where he laid the foundation for his lifelong love of learning and personal growth. After completing his education, he began a distinguished career with RCA and GE, where he dedicated his time and skills until his well-deserved retirement. His commitment and dedication throughout his employment were evident to all who worked alongside him. Frank also served his country in the Army as a mechanic and was stationed in Korea following the Korean War.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Frank possessed a remarkable talent for restoration and craftsmanship. He found great joy in bringing old radios back to life, tinkering with vehicles, engaging in mechanical work, and honing his woodworking skills. His passion and talent extended beyond ordinary projects, as he constructed his very own telescope, motorboat, and even a windmill that briefly provided electricity to his home. Frank’s ingenuity and love for creating will forever be remembered by those who witnessed the fruits of his labor.

In his younger days, Frank delighted in the simple pleasure of fishing. Casting his line and spending time by the water brought him tranquility and allowed him to connect with the natural world around him. These moments of solace provided a refreshing escape from the demands of daily life.

For over 56 years, Frank was blessed with the companionship and unwavering love of his wife, Annie Mae Marek. Together, they built a strong and nurturing home, sharing the joys and challenges of life side by side. They resided in Eastgate, Texas, for over four decades, creating a lifetime of cherished memories. In recent years, Frank and Annie Mae relocated to Spring, Texas, where they continued to enjoy each other’s company and embrace new experiences.

Frank Henry Marek was preceded in death by his parents, Frank August Marek and Christina Svatek Marek, as well as his brother, Fred Marek, and sister, Agnes Moeller. He leaves behind a legacy of love and family. Frank will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Annie Mae Marek, his children, Frank Marek, Rosane “Niki” Colangeli and her husband Jack, and John Marek and his wife Cathleen. His memory will also be cherished by his grandchildren, Megan Colangeli, Julia Colangeli, Olivia Marek, Sarah Marek, step-grandchildren, Caleb LaFour, Cheyenne Jackman and her husband Tyler, great- grandchildren, Seth, Charlotte; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers honoring Frank will be Victor Moeller, Bobby Moeller, Steven Moeller, Steven Skarpa, Kenneth Ubnoskye, Ricky Ubnoskye and Vincent Petters.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather for a mass to celebrate the life of Frank Henry Marek at St. Anne’ Catholic Church in Eastgate, Texas on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. A rosary will be held at the Church prior to the service at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery in Eastgate, Texas. All funeral arrangements are under the care of Pace Stancil Funeral Home of Dayton, Texas.
