Christopher Michael Van Deventer, 1983-2019
Christopher Michael Van Deventer, age 36, of Liberty passed away unexpectedly in his father’s loving arms on Dec. 9 at his residence in Liberty. He was born on Aug. 5, 1983 in Liberty to parents Michael Van Deventer and Ramona Ann Doyen Erdman.
Christopher was a loving son, nephew, cousin and friend. Although, he had serious health issues throughout his life, he had a great attitude and a smile that would light up the room. Christopher loved country music. He was a great dancer. Chris loved being outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was truly loved by all who knew him. He will be missed and his memory cherished forever.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Michael Van Deventer, Romana Ann Doyen Erdman and husband Jeff; Aunt Lisa Majors and husband Fred; Uncle John Mahavier and wife Lisa; cousins, Tessa Baggett and husband Patrick, John Mahavier, Trevor Mahavier; uncles, Robert, Russell, Randall and Richard Doyen; Aunt Lanette Doyen; and grandmother, Earlene Krueger. He also leaves behind many other loving family members and friends.
Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers are William Hanel, Galen Duty, Chris Turner, Paul Haidusek, Brian Rogers, John Reitan, Tommy Chambers and Terry Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Josh Wiggins, Doug Bishop, Jeff Wiggins and Ray Day.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 12 to 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 16, at First Baptist Church of Liberty, 602 Main St., Liberty, Texas 77575. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with Brother Glen Leatherman officiating.
