Annette Billingsley

Annette Billingsley, Liberty County native, died the morning of Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at the age of 87 in Glen Rose, Texas.

Annette, the oldest of three girls, was raised on rural family land in Liberty County, where she enjoyed riding her beloved horse, Dixie.

After graduating from high school at the age of 16, she went on to graduate nursing school at 19.

Soon after nursing school, Annette was married to her high school sweetheart, Bob Billingsley, and they had two children.

She and her family moved to South Dakota where she became interested

her retirement, she was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of owning a home on the beach at Crystal Beach, Texas, not far from where she grew up.

After Hurricane Ike, Annett e moved to North Texas near her sister Linda Massey. She was an avid gardener, volunteered at the local food bank and an active member of the Cross of Christ Episcopal Church in Glen Rose.

Annette is proceeded in death by her father Leonard Abshier and her mother Mildred Abshier.

She is survived by her two sisters, Linda Massey in Glen Rose and Judy McElhatten in Raywood.

Annette’s wishes were to be cremated.
