Two women killed in train collision

AMES – Tragedy befell two women early Monday when a train at a crossing off US 90 and FM 160 struck and killed the pair.
Authorities have released the names of the two Liberty women, Linda Warren Durio, 63, and Demetria Louise Semien, 48, reportedly mother and daughter.
The accident occurred just before 10: 30 am when Durio ignored the rail crossing barrier and tried to make it across the tracks; unfortunately, the train traveling westbound hit the 2019 Toyota Rav 4 the women were driving.
An inquest was performed by Liberty County Justice of the Peace Pct. 2 Jimmy Belt, who ordered autopsies of both women.
The accident was under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
