SUMMER READING FUN COMING YOUR WAY
Summer is fast approaching, and Liberty Municipal Library is excited to share that we will be hosting a Summer Reading Program for summer 2021. This year’s theme is ‘Tails and Tales!’ and teens and families with children of all ages will want to follow the Library in the upcoming months as we share some of the fun we are planning just for them.
The six-week program will be beginning June 14th. To participate, the amount of time that a teen or child reads, or is read to, will be recorded every week. For every so many minutes that they read from books checked out at the library, they will get to pick a participation prize from the Library’s treasure chest and place their name in a drawing. At the end of the program, names will be drawn to win participation prizes that have generously been provided from the Friends of the Library as well as local businesses.
All that is required to participate in our reading program is a library card. Library cards are free to all Texas residents who can present a valid Texas driver’s license, Texas state ID, residency card, or Matricula Consular with a local address. For teens or children to get a library card of their own, a parent or guardian must simply provide one of the above-mentioned proofs of residence.
For more information about the Summer Reading Program or any other services/resources available through Liberty Municipal Library, call us at 936-336-8901, reach out to us on Facebook or Instagram, or come on in. We are located at 1710 Sam Houston Ave., inside the Geraldine D. Humphreys Cultural Center in Liberty, Texas. The Library is open Monday through Thursday 10:00am-6:00pm, Friday 1:00pm-5:00pm, and Saturday 10:00am-4:00pm. We would love to see you!
