LCHC annual contest update

The Liberty County Historical Commission announced that due to Covid concerns, the public Awards Ceremony for its First Annual Art & Essay Contest has been pushed from Labor Day to Saturday, September 25th, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. in the Hartel Building, 318 San Jacinto Street, Liberty. Entries should be received by August 28th. Libraries and schools across the county were partners in registering and receiving finished applications and work. Winners will be notified in a timely manner before the presentation of awards and encouraged to attend to receive their award. Winners will receive a certificate and monetary prize. Their photo along with their work will be published in the newspaper and on the Commission Facebook page. The public is invited to attend and view the students’ work and enjoy a reception following the presentation.
