Constable admitted to sex abuse of child
Last week’s standoff between a number of law enforcement agencies, including Liberty County officials and Harris County Constable Pct. 1 Sgt. Robert Johnson resulted in his eventual suicide, and the story has since taken on an even darker tone, with regard to a number of incidents of sexual misconduct with a child by Johnson, as well as a pair of women that worked with that same department.
Before taking his own life, Johnson would confess to his role in a child sex abuse case that he was under investigation for by the Alvin Police Department and Brazoria County. The investigations stem from an incident involving one of the women involved in the investigation, Christina McKay, who informed officials at the Harris County Constable Pct. 1office of the situation, while she was being evaluated for her poor work performance as a dispatcher by that department.
That led to a call to the Houston Police Department, which found the alleged event actually took place in the jurisdiction of the City of Alvin, and departments in that area took over the investigation, along with Child Protective Services.
It was during the incident, that resulted in a six hour standoff between Johnson and law enforcement, he admitted to his part in the events and that he did not act alone, naming both McKay and Chonda Williams as part of the sexual assault.
Both women have been fired from the department and arrested on charges of sexual assault of a child, with bond set for both women at $200,000.
“It has been a tough week for us here at Precinct 1, as we have learned more about this case, we have realized the tragedy for all that was involved. All of those that were involved,” said Harris County Pct. 1 Constable Alan Rosen.
