Liberty Little Dribblers make waves
LIBERTY — It was a thrilling run for the Liberty Little Dribblers All- Star Junior Boys squad, as they made a big impression against teams across Texas.
The squad came just short of winning the National Tournament in Mexia on April 3-6 as they lost a nailbiter to the host team 44-43. The junior squad competed in the national division, the biggest of the three. The team, comprised of 3rd and 4th-grade boys from Liberty, made the town proud.
They took out Vidor 34-4, Brazos Valley 4124, Abilene Wylie 35-8, lost to Mexia 37-32 and beat Grimes County 50-42 to put them in the championship game against Mexia.
“It was one of those games that neither team deserved to lose, said Coach GG Randolph. “Everyone that saw that game got their money’s worth, and that’s for sure.”
Members of the team are Tyron Harris- Hines Jr., Jimmy Adams Jr., Jasiyah Robertson, Rondale Durio (Deuce), Tristen Fountain, Kayden Dugat, Jeremiah Senegal, Elijah Johnson, Kamren Mosley, Josiyah Senegal, and Micah Sias. The coaches are Shedwich DeBlanc, GG Randolph, Brandon Mitchell, and Jimmy and Sha Adams.
“ These kids have represented the town of Liberty well and have made the town proud of them,” added Randolph.
