Cool down at the Buttered Pecan Creamery

I scream. You scream. We all scream for ice cream. Alicia Diaz came from Maryland and found herself in the thick of Liberty, opening an ice cream parlor.
When Diaz first moved to Liberty, she was looking for a purpose. An employee told us that Hershey’s chocolate is a very big thing in Maryland, which made Diaz decide she wanted to make her mark on this town as she has.
Diaz saw an opportunity and has highly excelled by opening her very own ice cream parlor in the middle of this small town.
“I opened the ice cream shop because there’s no other ice cream shops around here, and that blew my mind,” said Diaz.
The Buttered Pecan Creamery has been open since September of last year. The parlor is open daily from 12 to 8 p.m., excluding Mondays.
On the weekends, Diaz’s nieces come to Liberty from Houston to lend a helping hand at the parlor for their aunt, as they see it also to be spending quality family time together.
Diaz says they are growing slowly, but it’s still growing.
“ We’re trying to expand to be able to provide more, but right now, space is limited. We’re waiting, and we’re trusting,” said Diaz.
As you walk through the door, you are instantly greeted with a warm smile and the smell of goodies. There is a wide variety of sweet treats to choose from, ranging from new daily specials, fresh coffee, homemade waffle cones, and of course, ice cream!
Tuesdays are Taco Tuesdays, Wednesdays are Waffle Bowl Wednesdays, Thursdays are $1 off Banana Splits, Fridays are $1 off Milkshakes, and Saturdays and Sundays are Hot Fudge Sundaes.
“If you can think of it, we can figure it out,” said Diaz.
After ordering your choice of a tasty treat, enjoy your bundle of goodness in the parlor with your friends, families, and even coworkers. Many customers share great things on social media about The Buttered Pecan Creamery.
“We’ve had some really great customers encourage us and share us and our posts to let others know,” said Diaz.
