Volunteers restore veteran’s gravesites

DAYTON – Glenn Smikal and James Coughlin work to reset the marker of World War I veteran John Powell at the Linney-Acie Cemetery. The headstone had sunken into the ground and a tractor was needed to lift and reset it. Volunteers took advantage of a beautiful start to April and performed various projects, including stabilizing grounds, resetting headstones, and general cleaning duties of veteran gravesites.
