Riding in style
HARDIN — The ride to school in the morning can be pretty mundane, whether hopping on a school bus or sitting in line at the student drop off, but for one family, a recent ride was pretty epic.
The children of John and Amy Addison were the recipients of a unique chauffeur when the Dayton Volunteer Fire Department swung by and gave them a lift to school on a fire engine.
The Addison’s were excited to see their kid’s joyous reaction as the DVFD arrived at their home in Hardin, but they were even more excited to have been able to support area first responders in the process.
“This is so cool. I want to be a fireman,” said Legend Addison.
The ride to school was one of many auction items supporting DVFD at their annual Boots and Bullets fundraiser in January, and the Addisons walked away with the winning bid.
“We are extremely proud that we were able to support our men and women in uniform! Our first responders work all year round, 24 hours a day, and giving back to them a little is important to us,” said John and Amy Addison.
Kynleigh and Brookelynn Addison were also very excited to roll up to school.
Boots and Bullets grossed over $107,000 in support of the DVFD and continues to be a worthwhile cause that truly gives back to the community.
