DAYTON — It was a festive start to the holiday season as the Dayton Historical Society came together for their annual Holiday Banquet in the Fellowship Hall of First Methodist Dayton. Emily Cook entertained guests on the piano, who was joined by Sarah Mudd, wife of Dayton Mayor Martin Mudd, on vocals. Santa Claus stopped in for a visit and gifted guests with Christmas tree ornaments. The historical society will return with programming on Monday, Jan. 29, at 6 p.m. The Dayton Historical Society meets at Parker Hall behind the Old School Museum on Houston Street.
