Cook shines in Elks Soccer Shoot
Ryder Cook from Anahuac, Texas represented Liberty Lodge # 2019, Texas East District, and Texas Elks at Regionals, where he came home in second place.
“ He might not have gotten first, but we are extremely proud of his hard work and how far he made it. We look forward to him winning Regional and qualifying for Nationals next year,” says Youth Program Director Morgan Webb Monett.
On March 5, Cook competed in the Liberty Elks Lodge # 2019 Soccer Shoot held behind Liberty Middle School on Jefferson Drive. Cook and several others between the ages of 8 and 13 competed in the eight divisions. The winner from each division advanced to District, where again Cook won.
On Oct. 14, Cook and his mom, Dawn, traveled to Dallas for the Elks State Soccer Shoot, where Ryder competed against seven other boys in his age group from all over Texas.
He won again. The next stop was Kansas to compete at the regional level. This was Liberty Lodge # 2019’s third local soccer shoot and the first time to be invited to advance to the next level.
