Join the Dayton Historical Society for their next monthly meeting Monday, July 25, at 6 pm.

Dayton Noon Lions President Mike George, who is also the new L2 Zone Chair for Lions District 2-S2, will talk about the history of Lions Club International, the history of the Dayton Noon Lions Club, and the purposes they serve in the local community as well as the state and internationally.

Lion Mike has led his club from 28 members in July 2021 to 52 members currently. Personally, he has sponsored 14 new members during the previous fiscal year while earning the District 2-S2 Dandelion Award, the International President's Certificate of Appreciation, and the International President's Distinguished Leadership Medal, the fourth and third highest awards one can receive in Lions Club.

The Dayton Noon Lions were named at their district convention in May as the District 2-S2 Lions Club of the Year and voted Best Civic Organization of the Year by the readers of The Vindicator.

The Dayton Historical Society meets at Parker Hall, located behind the Old School Museum at 111 W. Houston St.
