Lady Panthers come home with a hefty loss in Orangefield
ORANGEFIELD – The Lady Bobcats proved to be the meaner cats on their home court in Friday’s scrap with the Lady Panthers.
Orangefield stayed consistent by scoring in the double digits at the end of the first three periods, with a result of 58-16 at the last buzzer.
At first glance, the numbers don’t give Anahuac’s varsity girls credit for the effort and will to stay in the fight throughout the contest.
Bobcats had a 22-3 lead at the start of the second period before adding 18 more in the next eight minutes.
Invigorated by a trip to the locker room, the Lady Panthers slowed their opponent’s previous scoring frenzy some in the second half, but the Lady Bobcats were still too much.
Callie Henicke, point guard/shooting guard and Madison Willis, power forward/center for the Lady Panthers, were a big part of what Anahuac did well.
Anahuac gets a chance to redeem themselves at home against those pesky East Chambers Lady Buccaneers this Friday.
