EC opens district with 34-6 win
WINNIE – Coming off two solid wins in a row, the East Chambers Buccaneers were chomping at the bit to hit the ground running in district play.
The Buccaneers running game could not be stopped on Friday night at home as East Chambers finished with 324 yards rushing as a team and cruised to a 34-6 win over the Buna Cougars for their third straight win.
Jarrell Smith led the rushing attack with 144 yards on just five carries while also adding two touchdowns on the ground.
Koby Jones added 44 yards on six carries and Earius Ceasar, Ricardo Lopez, and Corbyn Moore all added rushing touchdowns.
Aiden Baker led the defense for the Buccaneers with 16 tackles. Kyler Smith added eight tackles, with three of those for losses.
East Chambers (3-1, 1-0) will visit Hornet Stadium on Thursday night for a trip to Hardin.
