EC finishes Evadale Tournament 2-2
EVADALE – The East Chambers basketball team traveled to Evadale over the weekend, competed at the Rebel Classic, and finished with a 2-2 record.
The Buccaneers started tournament play on Thursday and dropped a 52-43 decision to Tournament Champion Bridge City.
On Friday, East Chambers played a pair of games and dropped a challenging 56-55 game to the Livingston Lions.
The Buccaneers then beat Beaumont Kelly 63-43. East Chambers led 33-14 at the half and then used a 19-12 third quarter to put away the Bulldogs.
On Saturday, the Buccaneers jumped out to a 22-5 first-quarter lead and then coasted the rest of the way in a 60-36 victory over the Huntington Red Devils.
Cameron Dillard had a three-pointer early on to give East Chambers a 7-5 lead and then a bucket by Jaxson Pitre made it 9-5.
Jarrell Smith then nailed a couple of three-pointers and then a two-pointer by Smith made it 18-5. Smith then scored another bucket for 10 straight points and the Buccaneers had mounted a 20-5 advantage.
East Chambers will play at the Frankston Tournament this weekend.
