Coldspring shuts down Anahuac
DAISETTA – The Anahuac Lady Panthers played one of their best games this season on Thursday morning at the Hull-Daisetta Christmas Classic, knocking off the host Lady Bobcats and moving to the winner's bracket.
On Friday evening, Anahuac faced Coldspring in a winning bracket game, and the Lady Trojans put the defensive clamps on the Lady Panthers, resulting in a 50-8 victory.
The opening quarter was not bad for Anahuac as they scored 7 points.
The offense was shut down by scoring just one point the rest of the way.
Paisley Wells scored the first bucket for the Lady Panthers, and then it was Cristashia Lewis scoring on the inside, and Anahuac trailed 12-4.
Vallynn Cook then hit from downtown and the Lady Panthers were within 13-7. Coldspring then scored the next 16 points of the first half and led 29-7 at the break.
The third quarter was not much better for Anahuac as the Lady Trojans outscored them 14-1 in the period and led 43-8 heading into the final eight minutes of play.
Cook led the Lady Panthers in scoring with three points.
