MONT BELVIEU – Two best friends and a dream turned reality, Cara Carroll and Ashley Shibley work together to serve the community and provide the best fashions.
After being a teacher for 13 years, Carroll decided to push herself out of her limits and explore a whole new world in the fashion industry. Her co-owner, Shibley, is a marketing director and an event planner and these best friends work together to make their dream possible.
Sitting around a fire six years ago, Carroll and Shibley discussed owning their own business. Putting their heads together, they started their business online and grew from there.
With their love for coffee and cocktails, the friends thought it would be the perfect name for their storefront.
Having their online business for three years, Carroll and Shibley moved into their brick-and-mortar and have been fulfilling their customer's wishes for the past three years.
The customer experience is super important to the team. Meeting new people and making connections brings Carroll and Shibley joy and a sense of fulfillment.
"Just being a part of the community where we get to meet so many different people from so many different walks of life, just feeling like we are a tiny part of that is so cool," Carroll said.
Being able to pertain to their clientele's interest, Carroll and Shibley like to hear personal feedback about what they should provide in their shop. Having close bonds with the customers, the team knows exactly what to supply.
While also including their customer's feedback, Carroll and Shibley like to add their own personal style to the mix.
Starting their day, Carroll and Shibley count inventory, pack orders, answer emails, film content for social media, and do so much more behind-the-scenes preparation that goes into opening the storefront.
Keeping the store clean and organized and doing their visual displays, the team does their best to curate the perfect shopping experience.
Carroll and Shibley both enjoy shopping locally and supporting other local boutiques. Loving the shopping and fashion experience, the team ensures everyone who comes in feels like their best self.
Not only do they provide clothing for their customers, but Carroll and Shibley also like to provide a place of worship for their store, with a prayer wall in the dressing room, access to Bibles, and just being there to talk, the team wants to make their customers feel welcome.
"I just really love what I do, and I hope I get to do it for a very long time. I just feel so blessed to be able to do this. It's my favorite thing in the world," Carroll said.

Coffee to Cocktails is open Thursday from 2 to 6 p.m., Friday from noon to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
