Last Monday, a pair of suspected burglars led law enforcement on a pursuit before being taken into custody by the Chambers County Sheriff's Office.

In the early morning of April 7, deputies responded to a 911 call for a burglary in the 10000 block of Ravens Way, on the county's west end, where the caller alleged their vehicle's window had been broken and tools were stolen from inside.

As the deputies arrived, they were able to locate the suspects in the area, where they were reportedly observed burglarizing a van, according to a news release from the CCSO.

The suspects fled as deputies were approaching them, leading law enforcement on a pursuit that ended in north Houston, where the suspects were caught after fleeing on foot through an apartment complex.

Branden Riley, 21, and Leondray Garrison, 20, both from Houston, were taken into custody.

Both suspects were transported back to the Chambers County Jail for booking.

"This incident highlights the importance of a quick response and teamwork. Our deputies did an outstanding job locating and apprehending the suspects before more damage could be done. I'm thankful for their commitment to protect our community," Sheriff Brian Hawthorne said.
