Broncos stampede through Dayton
DAYTON — Morning storms held off long enough for the official unveiling and ribbon cutting for the Broncos adorning the Texas 321 underpass The Dayton Enhancement Committee had an idea to have metal Broncos along the underpass to represent the community.
“I want to emphasize the great work the enhancement committee has done with this project,” said Dayton City Manager Kimberly Judge. “You guys are instrumental in setting Dayton apart from our surrounding communities.” Thanks were given to TxDOT and their representative, Roberto Rodrigez, who helped work on the project.
Various Dayton organizations and donors were also shouted out for their hard work and dedication to seeing this project through.
“I’m proud to have this organization in our community,” said Dayton Mayor Martin Mudd. “We want to make sure our city is clean and looks nice, and I think this organization does that.”
Each Bronco measures 6’x9’ and weighs 500 lbs. It was all funded by a private sponsor, which meant no taxpayer money was used, and each sponsor was recognized by four prominent stars in the underpass.
Donors, city representatives, the Dayton Enhancement Committee and the Dayton Chamber of Commerce were on hand for the ceremony.
