BABIN MOBILE OUTREACH HOURS
Congressman Brian Babin is having a Mobile Outreach on May 29 at Cleveland City Hall (907 E. Houston St, Cleveland) from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Sam Houston Regional Library (650 FM 1011, Liberty) from 1 to 4 p.m. Staff will be available to answer questions, address concerns and provide assistance that you may need with a federal agency. FRIDAY NIGHT BITES
Dayton Enhancement Committee presents a Cinco De Mayo Celebration on May 31, from 6 to 9 p.m. This is a free entry event with entertainment, tequila tasting, food trucks, vendors, and more. They will have a $20 minimum donation to DEC Projects as well. This will be located at 111 N. Church St., Dayton. Entertainment will be DJ X and Ballet Folklorico.
TASTE OF DAYTON BOARD GAME
NIGHT
It’s time for the 2024 Taste of Dayton and you’re all invited! The Taste of Dayton is on June 6 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Dayton Community Center. This event is where community and business members of Dayton come together, meet, link, and have fun! This year’s theme is Board Game Night! Come on by for an exciting Taste of Dayton! Vendors will be decorating their booths to reflect a family board game! We can’t wait to see them all and enjoy the free food, plentiful laughs, family time, and community networking! Adult entry tickets are $5, and children are $3 for food, drinks, games, fun, laughs, creativity, and more! They are taking Vendor Applications now, but they are going fast. ANNUAL REDNECK COOK-OFF Teagan is five years old and was diagnosed with Acute Lymphatic Leukemia B-Cell on December 28, 2023. He has spent multiple days admitted and has begun his third phase of chemo. On Saturday, June 8, Teagan and his family will host a cook-off. The categories include fajita and mixed drink ($20 entry/fee), chicken, ribs, brisket, beans and chef’s choice ($100 fee) double-blind. A live auction will start after 5 p.m.; pulled pork plates with a drink will cost $15 at 11 a.m. All of these events will be located at 480 CR 6769, Dayton. HARDIN VFD FUNDRAISER AND AUCTION Liberty County ESD #7 Hardin Fire/Rescue is having a fundraiser and auction on June 29 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bid on items from Milam Discount Tire, Chubby’s Packing Company, Leigh Ann Neal Photography, miscellaneous tool items, a 4x6 deer blind and so much more! Plates are $15, including catfish, coleslaw, french fries, hush puppies, and a drink. All proceeds benefit the Hardin Volunteer Fire Department and go towards new equipment for the station and apparatus. SUMMER READING PROGRAM EVENTS The Austin Memorial Library has a summer reading program in June and July with many fun events for all ages! June 3 is the first of many events throughout the next two months. July 31 will be the last day of the event and the End of Summer Bash! There are other events for children of all ages and teenagers. 80’S NIGHT PURSE BINGO
Prepare to break out your leg warmers and neon attire for a rad event benefiting a great cause! Bridgehaven Children’s Advocacy Center is thrilled to announce its 80’s Themed Purse Bingo on June 14 (18 and up) and June 15 (Family Night) from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Dayton Community Center. This groovy event promises an evening filled with fun, games, and fabulous prizes. Attendees will have the chance to win stylish purses while enjoying the nostalgic vibes of the 1980s. Silent and live auctions, photobooths, a live DJ and bingo will occur through the night. Get ready for the Greatest Summer Experience ever! The Liberty Center is hosting a Kids at College Event with Lee College from June 24 to July 26. Some of the events they offer include sports camps, swimming lessons, outdoor adventures, STEM, Culinary, Cosmetology, Art, and Theater camps, just to name a few! BACK TO SCHOOL SPECTACULAR Cleveland is hosting a Backto- School Spectacular Event on Friday, July 26, at the Cleveland Civic Center from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. (drive-thru only). Children must be present to receive supplies. SETX YOUTH FOOTBALL CAMP If your kid is passionate about football and wants to advance their skills and fundamentals, this camp will provide the necessary tools to succeed. SETX Youth Football Camp will begin on July 27 at 9 a.m. and July 28 in Liberty County. This will be the first year the event will take place and hoping to gain momentum going forward. First Baptist Church Devers is a proud partner of the Houston Food Bank, and it is making an ongoing effort to serve its local community by distributing free food to those in need. The food distribution occurs on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month at 106 Ave A, Devers, TX 77538.
MT. CALVARY CLOTHING DRIVE Mt. Calvary Baptist Church is taking donations of student- size/style clothes for their annual back-to-school giveaway in July. FREE SENIOR BREAKFAST
On the Third Monday of each month at 10 a.m., there will be a free breakfast for Seniors. This event is hosted by South Liberty County, Meals on Wheels and Houston Food Bank. This will be held at 801 S. Cleveland St., Dayton.

CELEBRATE RECOVERY
The Family Church in Hardin hosts Celebrate Recovery, a weekly class every Friday at 7 p.m. If you know someone who needs this class, please share this information with them.
