The Vindicator is proud to announce that Travis Huffman has joined the staff as the new Managing Editor. He attended school at Dayton ISD and grew up in the Old River area. His father grew up in the area, and his mother retired from the Dayton school district after years of service in the technology department.

The order was put into place last week after a small wildfire had broken out in the far northwest corner of the county after dry conditions had developed in the area.

Recently the county surpassed the 2,000-case mark and since reports in mid-November the county has jumped from 28 active cases on Nov. 16 to 135 cases currently according to data released by the Liberty County Office of Emergency Management.
